Overview
Brushless DC (BLDC) motors deliver an excellent combination of durability, efficiency, torque, and speed in a compact size. Portescap manufactures both slotless and slotted electronically-commutated 3-phase BLDC motors. The slotless design uses a cylindrical, ironless coil, while slotted models use advanced lamination and winding techniques. Slotted motors are manufactured in the U.S. and can be sterilized, making them suitable for surgical applications. Portescap's Swiss-designed Ultra EC line is a family of miniature brushless motors engineered to reduce iron loss and boost efficiency.
